Update

Tuesday, July 5th, 2005

well it’s ben quite a while now since i last wrote, partly because i have been too busy with things. I did a meeting at wimbledon for sittingbourne and scored 1 point, So it wasn’t a total disaster but it’s certainly top of my worst track lists now. But as for luck i am having about zero at the minute. One bike was written off nearly and thanks to Trev and his dad Steve and they’re mate who all helped getting that back to me so soon. Just as i got that bike back though the ignition on the other bike has given up the go. Luckily i have sponsors in Stewart Robinson Auto Services who has kindly donated, and followed my progress of late and been lending his help at every possible oppurtunity.
As for the personal side of things, well they’re going slightly better. Just been seeing my mates and been to a couple of music gigs. I went out with my dad and bro for an indian the other day and thats about it really. No big events to talk about so.
As far as my next meeting i have no idea yet just got to buy some new bits for the bike and assemble etc and then i’ll be waiting for the call.

Sittingbourne sunday 12th

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

What a day. It started as any other meeting i guess. But in heat 2 my first heat i missed the gate a bit and was trying to go around the guy on the inside of me. Unfortunately he had seen the red lights come on and i hadnt, as a result he shut off and went straight. Knocking me off, and as i came off the back of the bike i managed to grab a handfull of throttle and the bike flew into the fence. This wrecked my first bike. However i mounted my second bike which never seemed right from the word go but i had to make do. After a rolling start fromsomeone it was another restart. This time round i made the gate but the other guys got tangled and another restart was up with only 3 riders the scunthorpe rider being excluded. I managed to follow round for a point.
My second ride i got back on my first bike and was upm with the top guys in the team untill lap 3 when i made a mistake and fell back a bit.
My third ride was simialer stuff. came last but gained valuable experience.
My fourth ride was another strange one. I made the gate only to have the Scunthorpe rider drop it on me in the first corner. We both came off high side only i came off worse i think. The bike was bent and i managed to break my big toe somehow. However i got back on and picked up a point.
My fifth ride or start anyway. I made the gate but skipper chris got tangled up with someone in front of me and i managed to lay my bike down in time to miss them both. Unfortunately Chris was injured and i had more bike troubles so dan blake took my place in the re run.
I’m not quite sure about the order of all this because it all happened so quick but u get the pic.
I EXTEND MY THANKS TO ALL THE RIDERS AND THEIR MECHANICS AND OFFICIALS WHO HELPED ME OUT IN THE PITS ON SUNDAY. WITHOUT THEM I WOULDN’T OF FINISHED THE DAY.
My next meeting may be at rye house on saturday i’ll let u know on here first.

Kings Lynn June 05th

Monday, June 6th, 2005

Yesterday was ok i spose. I finished up with 8 points ans a place in the final but after a restart locked up in the slick stuff in the first corner and dropped it.
I started the day off badly with a 3rd in my first race after miss counting and i thought i saw the chequered flag and slowed down bt in fact it was the yellow so by the time i restarted it was too late.
My next two races i picked up seconds and then in my last qualifier i had to win to make the final and managed to do so with my quickest race of the day. Then the final, i made the gate from 1 and led for 2 laps fighting off tim webster. Entering the 3rd bend the red lights came on and the race stopped for a faller at the back. Then there was some rain, another crash in the heat after ours before they re ran our race caused for a track grading. Then i missed the gate and the rest is history.
Very pleased with the bike though and thanks to my engine tuner who did a superb job. I just have to clean the bikes now and get then ready for the next time.

Sunday, May 15th, 2005

Although i didnt actually ride in the team today i did the second half which i thought went very well. I tried a new set-up and it seemed to work although not very well out of the gate. Ill be changing a few things to help me get out of the gate a bit quicker now. I wont be able to ride at wimbledon on a wednesday any more due to work commitments. I can’t get the time off anymore but sunday meetings may be ok. I am next riding at eastbourne on sat. Then again on sunday at sittingbourne.

Slump

Monday, May 9th, 2005

Well it’s been a pretty bad week and a half now. I seem to be getting all the bad luck at once. It’s not doing my confidence much good either. I am really struggling on and off the track with riding and finance etc. I pretty much pay for everything out of my wage packet, so if anyone wishes to lend their support please email me at stefan@stefanracing.com Im having a week off at the min to try and get everything straightened out a bit. I prob be riding at Sittingbourne on sunday so i’ll c u there.

Update 4/5/05

Wednesday, May 4th, 2005

Well it’s been quite up and down the last few days. I rode conference league on thursday at Oxford. I struggled for pace but by the end of the night had a setup that i feel i could have got in the mix a bit more. I rode at no. 2 but failed to score. Then I won the support class down at Newport in the STR. Although winning the meet i felt unhappy about my riding. Tonight i went to wimbledon and rode the second half there, but had a terrible night. Many thanks to Keith Yorke and John for their help and support tonight. So i will rest now and set the bikes up and get my self set for whatever comes next. Hope to have some good news coming soon.
